John Nadworny

Planning with families over a span of three decades, John’s practice is rooted in applying his extensive experience to understand and advise clients planning for their futures.

John gets to know his clients by listening and asking questions; at times questions requiring complex answers. In every case, his goal is to understand what is needed for each family’s unique set of circumstances and to present viable options and possible solutions.

John has deep and trusting professional relationships with his client families, working with them to manage their accumulating wealth and to plan when they face significant life challenges. It became a priority for him to extend his practice to be there for his clients and their children for the next three decades.

In 2019, he co-founded Affinia Financial Group, a multi-generational firm to continue to provide his clients with the knowledge, level of service, and values he had built his practice upon. As CEO of Affinia, he continues to work with his clients alongside his experienced team and he oversees the investment portfolios for all of the firm’s clients.

John is well-known for his expertise in planning for families of individuals with disabilities and is often featured in the media. He and Cynthia Haddad are co-authors of The Special Needs Planning Guide: How to Prepare for Every Stage of Your Child’s Life (Brookes Publishing), now in its Second Edition. For a comprehensive view of the arc of John’s career and life, please take a look at A Father First, a film made by Investment News in 2017. John lives in Melrose, MA with his wife, Susan, and his son, James, who has Down Syndrome. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor pursuits and construction projects of all kinds.

Key fact about John: do not get him started on the Peloton bike. One word: obsessed.
